If you believe Computer and Video Games (CVG), then Logitech is currently developing a UMD drive for the PlayStation Portable Go. This is an external drive that connects to the PSP Go through the back panel. According to preliminary data, during installation, users will have to update the PSP Go firmware so that this portable game console can play movies and display games stored on UMDs.
It is worth recalling that, unlike the classic version of the PSP, the PSP Go does not have a UMD optical drive and relies entirely on memory cards. For this reason, some retailers in Europe are unwilling to start selling this portable set-top box, as many PSP games are available only on UMDs.
While it is difficult to say how reliable the information is from the CVG, since Logitech UK claims that it does not know. As for Sony, the famous Japanese company still remains completely silent.
