Amazon’s largest online retailer has bought Double Helix Games, the developer of the Xbox One-exclusive game Killer Instinct. This was announced by TechCrunch, and Amazon confirmed this information.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but it is clear that Amazon is interested in the company's intellectual property. Double Helix Games was founded in 2007 in California by merging two famous game developers, The Collective and Shiny Entertainment. The company employs 75 people, and all of them now work on Amazon.
TechCrunch found out about the deal from an invitation to a joint event between Amazon and Double Helix Games, which will be held on February 13 in Los Angeles. Most likely, the deal will be officially announced there.
